Patchwork Paper Picture Frames!!!

Hello...it's been beautiful weather here for days and days now...(bit worried it's all the summer we are going to have, so trying to make the most of it), but I currently have tonsillitis, which is rubbish, and I've had a temperature which in 30 degree heat is not ideal. Anyway...this hasn't completely stopped me crafting...
I was looking through a cupboard of odds and ends the other day, (somewhere I put presents, and things that need a make over at some point) and found some plain photo frames, which were nice, I had painted them, but decided I didn't like them once I had. I liked the idea of making them look like a patchwork, (something I had seen on Design Sponge -scroll down to see Lula Aldunate beautiful patchwork effect wallcovering- )

Using this as inspiration I got out some lovely Origami paper I bought when I was in the States and set about covering the frames. I used PVA glue to both stick the paper on and to seal them once stuck. VERY simple and easy to do...

Now they hold 2 lovely but very different birthday cards, one from my lovely friend Lucy from the previous post, she is a brilliant crafter and artist, and makes gorgeous cards and the other by my buddy Obi who was 3 I think when he gave me this card and who LOVES Disney's Stitch. I think they may end up with actual photos in, but I haven't had any developed for ages... defiantly needs to go on the To-Do list!!!

Evening Project!!!

It's my birthday soon (WHOOOOO HOOOO) and my plan is to have a tea party, with bunting and cakes and kids and sweets and flowers!!! It should be great...I'm hoping the weather holds for then, it's always hit and miss. So I was getting excited about it last night and decided to use some of the scraps of fabric I have lying around to make some mini bunting for my kitchen....

Here it is, what do you think? it was really easy to make, I just used a strip of Bias binding I had lying around, that I bought too short (a classic case of not measuring the quilt I wanted it for and so guessing how big it was and woefully underestimating!!!) But it has come in very useful, and then I just used scraps of different fabric I had lying around from various other projects...I good use I think, I really like it and I think it really cheers up my gorgeous dresser. (a total bargain from a lady who was moving to Canada...I think I paid around £25 for it!!! AMAZING I KNOW!!!)

Not sure what today will hold, I am investigating creating a Folksy Shop and/or an Etsy Shop....I have no experience of either but I would really like to have an easy link to where people can buy things I make!!! Sooooo, whilst waiting for my beaten and broken car to be collected I will be surfing the net for inspiration and advice!!!

Mini Crafts Cont...

Well it's been a while and I have been pretty hectic with work and life etc...(if I'm honest mainly work) whilst I have been making a few things, I am yet to start a new 'big' project...however I thought I would post a few things I made quickly using the selvage edge flowers I made last month.
These photo frames were bought AGES ago at the good and faithful, blue and yellow, Swedish shop...I'll leave you to guess which one... All I did was simply embellished them with 2 of the flowers...good old UHU comes in very handy. This is a bit of a cheat craft, but I thought I would show you some of my ideas of how you can use them.

This second idea requires maybe a bit more skill then just sticking...I needed to make some cards for a few family and friends, so using the new sewing machine, I sewed on a felt leaf and stem using green thread and then gluing on a flower. Really simple but sooo effective and everyone has loved them, so far they have been used as Congratulations, Birthday, Thank you and Mother day cards!!! very verisitile, I think you will agree!!! Although, maybe not for the man in your life!!!

I will crack on with a bigger project soon and post up in a few days...Thanks for reading!!! Bedtime for me now!!!
